Our Story
Pivot Robotics was founded by a team of robotics and AI engineers who saw a critical opportunity in manufacturing automation. While high-volume producers like automotive manufacturers could justify specialized automation for each product, the 75% of manufacturers who operate in high-mix environments needed more flexible solutions.
We started by focusing on one of manufacturing's most physically demanding tasks: grinding in metal production. This work combines physical challenges, ergonomic strain, and respiratory hazards with high skill requirements—creating a perfect opportunity for automation that enhances both productivity and workplace quality.

Our solution combines the adaptability needed for high-mix environments with the precision and consistency of automation. By teaching robots to see and understand what needs to be done—rather than programming specific motions—we've created systems that can handle inherent variation while maintaining precise quality standards.
Today, we're deploying our technology in factories across North America, with plans to expand to additional surface finishing processes and manufacturing sectors. Our vision extends beyond our current applications to building a new generation of adaptive, precise automation that works alongside skilled workers to create more efficient manufacturing environments.
